Biodegradability - Look for products that readily and fully biodegrade in hours/days vs. months/years.
Sustainable ingredients - Choose products made with renewable resources, not scarce ones
Safety - Demand products that are petroleum-free, ammonia-free, chlorine-free, phosphate-free, alcohol-free, synthetic perfume-free, and dye-free. They work just as well, but are healthier for you and for the environment.
Soaps & Lotions
We’ve all heard that skin is the body’s largest organ. Doesn’t it make sense, then, to care for it with only the most natural, non-toxic soaps and lotions? What you put on your skin is absorbed into your body. Read the labels of your traditional lotions and soaps, and watch out for toxins, including sodium laurel sulfate (SLS), propylene glycol, DEA, TEA, and MEA.
