Reusable Bags
Which is better for the environment – paper or plastic bags? The answer is really “neither”. See our Say “No” To Paper AND Plastic! page for more information on both kinds of bags, and browse below to see a better option: reusable grocery bags. Save the energy spent in production, the waste in disposal, the toxins released during both, and the animals killed from pollution by carrying your own bag to the store.

Large Woven Bazura Shoulder Bag
Woven from pre-consumer waste gathered from juice container manufacturers prior to disposal in landfills. These bags are made in a traditional box weave pattern, taking over a day to craft. Flap tongue closing.
Bazura Bags is working with a women’s co-op in the Philippines that set up a Livelihood Project assisted by the local village council. With almost no capital, the women found a very clever way to support themselves.
Every day, children from the local schools collect over 50,000 used drink containers, called doy packs, then sell them to the co-op. The packs are sanitized and the women sew them together into attractive, durable bags.
We estimate that millions of these containers get thrown in the trash everyday in the Philippines. Until we find a way to recycle them, or stop using this material altogether, we would like to reuse as many empty drink containers as possible and, in the process, support fair trade.

Bazura Backpack
These great, distinctive backpacks will help you stand out from the crowd (and find your backpack easily in a sea of generic packs). With extra strong zippers (2 outside, one in the center), two side pockets for phones or keys and with juice packet trim, and a large interior space, these are as functional as they are fun. Brighten up even a Monday (or a test day) with a Bazura backpack.
